Horn Shaving is when layers of the hard enamel of the horn is shaved away into intricate patterns; since Lowbloods can’t stand the pain of Scarification (and Tattoos are usually seen as a cop-out and far more “modern”/SUPER Lowblooded). Horn Piercing is just that. The partner (Highblood) drills a hole into the others (Lowblood’s) horns, and attaches a metal ring (usually silvery/hard metals). Other rings can be attached and the Highblood will give their Lowblood a gift of precious stones (in their color), as a signifier that the Lowblood is Matesprits with a Highblood.To clarify things, in this headcanon, Skin Branding (which I haven’t drawn yet), is for Kismesis (regardless of caste position on both parties).
